th July 2005: Wicket has given birth to 6 healthy babies! Considering the size of her pregnant belly, I was expecting more, but we are more than happy that we have those we did get :) I will check for curly whiskers (my very first!) tomorrow.

th July 2005: Ok! I've had a hold today, and all babies are huge and beautifully healthy. ALL 6 babies have curly whiskers, so we have a whole litter of rexes! This confirms my suspicion that Samson is actually a double rex. All the more curly babies for me! :D Five bubs are starting to pigment, and one is still pale.

th July 2005: I've attempted sexing them, which I've never done so early, so may be wrong. Usually, I wait for nipples to appear at around 8 days. This time, I've examined their little bits, and believe we have 2 boys and 4 girls. The paler one is a boy. All the others still have roughly the same amount of pigment. They may even all be agouti, which I'd be happy with :)

th July 2005: I have a beautiful picture of my babies for you! On the left is one of the agouti babies, and lying on top of the lot is the one that is the mystery colour. He doesn't appear ticked, but is decidedly lighter than the black babies. I like mysteries!

th July 2005: Ok, here goes my first attempt at types and sexes. We have three black fox/tans, 2 females and 1 male - the male has a small tail marking, the females are perfect. 2 agouties, both female, one has a small tail marking. Oddly, the agoutis are very different colours - one is pale and golden hued, the other (the one with the tail marking) is very dark, with almost-black feet. The last is the mystery baby, that I'm thinking may be havana, which is basically a black fox, but the foxing dilutes the colour somewhat. We'll have to wait and see! Here's another pic that is one of my favourite baby shots - how cute are they! :D

th July 2005: They're getting curly! Oh, they're just too cute. As my first litter of rexes, I'm sure you can imagine how chuffed I am with it all :D The curliest so far seems to be the paler agouti girl, but that might just be because she's lighter and you can see the curls more. Here's another pic! (There are lots more to come...)

th July 2005: Alright, I have announced the litter for reservations at the club, and all the girls and possibly one of the boys are reserved. That means that only the little black tan boy is available. They're all just SO cute. How can you not want one? :D
