Pedigree:
1st October 2006: Baaaabies! Gossamer was absolutely fricking huge, and we have somewhere around 9 rather large and very healthy bubbas. Hooray! I will be doing a full sex and so forth in a few days. At the moment Gossamer is looking a little overwhelmed... and I'm not surprised! October 4th 2006: We do indeed have 9 babies, and they're gorgeous! I have done a preliminary sexing, and it looks like we have 6 girls and 3 boys, which I'm more than happy with. We also have 3 pink-eyed babies! I'm crossing my fingers they're argente cream! October 8th 2006: 1 week olds - pictures!
October 11th 2006: I am stumped as to the colours that are developing! It seems we only have one chinchilla, the 3 pink-eyed which I'm betting are argente cream, and then 5 bubs which I would swear are agouti... which is impossible. They are more likely silver agouti with a bit of bronzing. Thinking over it, the litter that Gossamer came from was a chinchilla x chinchilla mating like this one, and we got argente cream, chinchilla, and silver agouti there, too. October 14th 2006: Bubs are 2 weeks old today, and you know what that means? Photos! I still don't know who I'm keeping or how many or where the reservations are going, so don't ask me. All that's for sure is there are still boys available. The left pic is all the silver agoutis, the right pic is the chinchilla and the argente creams.
October 23rd 2006: They're nearly little mice now, they grow so fast! Actually, they're still quite small for their age, but are bouncing all over the place, and are the friendliest little things. My hand in the tub means play on mummy time! They're all gorgeous. Reservations have come in, and there are only 3 silver agouti boys left looking for a home. I've added a pic of each of the colours, all growed up! *sniff* P.S. The "argente cream" bubs have turned into himalayans. This was cause for much confusion, as technically two chinchilla parents simply cannot have pointed babies, genetically. However, we have come to the conclusion that Cotton Ball was in fact a burmese agouti, which looks remarkably like a chinchilla. Therefore, some of the "silver agouti" babies may indeed be ticked burmese.
