14th December 2008: Last night, Armitage gave birth to 10 beautiful babies - 6 tailed and 4 manx. 3 of the manx look pretty close to perfect, 1 has a cute little stump. All black-eyed. I'm expecting black and sable, with the possibility of blue (if both parents carry), blue sable and silver sable. All will be longcoats. Mum has the most beautiful shiny, long coat - she is Grand Champion Loki's daughter from his first litter. Thank you to Sharon and Claire for letting me borrow Aeon! I'll update when I know colours and sexes :)

22nd December 2008: The bubs are doing wonderfully and I am so enjoying Armitage's mothering skills. She's doting, relaxed and competant, I think her bubs are going to be lovely because of it. As an example, after I've held them in my hands, my hands must smell like them - if I offer her my hand or finger to sniff, she thinks I'm a baby and very gently grasps my skin in her teeth and tries to put me back into the nest where I belong. It's adorable!

It doesn't look like we have any blues - so maybe Aeon doesn't carry. It was a chance, after all. We have 1 black, 1 chocolate (or mock chocolate?), 2 BEWs, 3 mm brindles and 3 sables (1 is going to be beautifully dark like dad, and a manx - he will be staying). There are 3 females, I think they're 1 BEW (staying), 1 brindle and 1 fawn... but will double check and confirm as their coats grow in. Sorry, no pics, but I promise I will update more in a few days :) I've noted which *colours* I'm interested in, but really I would like to keep the one with the best coat, so won't really know who that is til they're 4 or 5 weeks old. Happy to take reservations, though :)

December 24th 2008: Ok, bubs have nipples - official list is as follows. I'm not really expecting this lot to find homes, seeing as none of the brindle are very good, and the rest are pretty common colours. Hopefully they'll appeal to people who want a mouse with a good temperament and coat quality.

1 x BEW/silver sable tailed female - STAYING
1 x BEW/silver sable manx male - STAYING
1 x chocolate tailed male
1 x black tan manx male (stumpy)
1 x sable tailed female - ALIVIA
1 x sable tailed male - TANYA
1 x sable manx male - STAYING
1 x mm brindle tailed female - SHARON
1 x mm brindle tailed male
1 x mm brindle manx male

They're really lovely - especially the sables, they're going to be stunning like dad.

This is also the first time I've used my brand new digital camera - a Panasonic TZ15 - that I got for myself for Christmas. I haven't so much as looked at the settings, so everything's default, but I'm happy with it so far.

4th January 2009: Just thought I'd add some sad news. Yesterday I found my favourite sable manx boy dead for no reason, then today, my second favourite BEW tailed girl. I am shattered. They were the two I most wanted to keep, and were so beautiful and perfectly healthy as far as I could tell. The girl was under the porcelain food bowl so it's a possibility she dug under there and couldn't get out, but the boy was just lying on the litter. I hope there's not something wrong with them

In any case, I'd like to keep the sable girl instead. I'm still keeping the BEW manx boy and may keep the chocolate tailed or the sable tailed to go with him. I don't know... I just feel depressed about it at the moment, my poor babies :(

In brighter news, they're all absolutely adorable, and already really fluffy. I'll try and take some pics for you all tomorrow.

13th January 2009: Well, the rest of the babies are doing great and are FAT! The smallest is the black tan manx boy, and the biggest is the enormous fawn/sable boy. They're all lovely and friendly, and SO FLUFFY, too! The only one I've really clicked with is the fatty fawn/sable boy - I just adore him. I'd like to keep the BEW boy too, but probably won't keep any girls. I'm a bit disappointed with the litter - while they're beautifully friendly, have gorgeous eyes and ears, I was really hoping for a nice showable girl or two. (That said, the fawn girl is definitely showable - I just haven't clicked with her.)
