23rd May 2009: I sent Paprika off to Blue Cheese to spend some time with a lovely ruby-eyed white boy. It took her ages to fall pregnant, pushing her already-quite-late mating back until she gave birth when she was 11 months old. This, I believe, contributed to her small litter size - 1! And it's a boy. Such a shame, because her sister Clover didn't give me a girl either, so my last chance is from their brother Ash - who is not as nice as them. Paprika, Clover and Ash are Willow's children - who got Grand Champion at the Royal this year. So you can see why I'm a bit upset! Regardless, this one baby is absolutely beautiful, and I'm going to try and squeeze him in somewhere anyway. He was born somewhere around the 18th, so he's about 5 days old now. As you can imagine, he's SOOO fat! Here's a pic of him, and a pretty one of Paprika for good luck.

I haven't really updated this - I have a bunch of photos but since I'm keeping him, there isn't much point ;) Oliver, as he has been called, turned out to be mock chocolate fox. No chinchillas for me, bugger! But he is just too beautiful, and so I think he couldn't have been any more perfect. Because I've handled him so much, he is SO comfortable around me - he constantly falls asleep in my hand or on my arm. His ears are ginormous, too, which I love! Here's just one pic to show you how lovely he is :)

17th June 2009: Here's a quick comparison of Oliver (isn't he pretty?) and Dempsey, an unrelated mock-chocolate. I wonder if he's coffee?
